The South African batsmen need to be right on the money as soon as the Sri Lankan spinners come on to bowl. The final or maybe we can even call it as a decider test match is to be played at SSC, Colombo.
The proteas batsmen weren't quite confident facing spin during first test match at Galle. Rangana Herath and his companions took the opportunity and ran through their batting line-up.
Except Faf du Plessis no one else found it going against the spinners. The skipper was clever enough to play with soft hands and negate out good balls with good defence.
Although their bowling looks settled.Kagiso Rabada can prove to be lethal on any sort of track if he finds the best rhythm. Keshav Maharaj along with Shamsi need to bowl well as their counterparts. Dale Steyn would be hoping that he lifts his confidence with some good attacking nowling.
Sri Lanka despite their win at Galle might be concerned about their batting. Karunaratne was the lone warrior I guess in the first test match as he scored 158.Other Sri Lankan batsmen have to play well,if they are to beat Proteas in the second test match.
South Africa team: I won't be surprised to see a few changes in the playing 11. Shamsi is definite starter alongside Keshav Maharaj given the subcontinent conditions. Philander may be not included if the team management decides to go with an extra batsman.
Sri Lanka team: The captain and team management won't tinker with the winning combination.
Date and Time: 20-24 July, 10 AM local time
Venue: SSC, Colombo.
