Removing my Suspected Bot List post for Splinterlands

in #splinterlandslast year (edited)

I have had a long-running (for me) post here on peakd where I list out suspected bot playernames in the #splinterlands game.

I think it has come time to realize a few things.

  1. next to nobody cares
  2. bots make the game more enjoyable

You may have choked on that second one up there, but hear me out.

I'm a Silver-level player, plus or minus depending on things.
Recently life had me away from the interwebs for a while, so I relegated into Modern Bronze.

But it has gotten to where it feels like people who used to play higher levels, are now in Bronze to farm SPS. Probably related to videos like Tales from the Crypt Mancer made on YoozToobz.

That's cool for them. But now, for someone like me, I am only able to win about 5% of my games, which means I'm getting less SPS, less soul-bound card, and cannot climb into Silver.

So for regular players like me, I think removing bots was a bad move and I am hopeful there is some way to repair the system to bring the game back to a more balanced state where Silver and Bronze level decks are in Bronze.

Because of that, I'll be removing this post, and the original linked above, in about a week. So for the two of you that read my stuff, here's fair warning.

Additionally, another condition partially related to this topic, but also the new Rewards format (where rewards depend on SPS staked), I am unable to hold my multiplier with winnings even when staking ALL of my SPS winnings.
This is not such a great thing for players because they will have to buy SPS just to maintain a 12x boost on the rewards. I lose about 0.02 multiplier per day, and at that rate, in one year, I'd go from 12 to 5 boost multiplier, if I did not purchase more SPS. And this also leaves me no SPS to sell into DEC, which decreases the mass of the flywheel.
Am I missing something? Maybe I don't understand the boost multiplier, but it is definitely decreasing.
