Sewing is my therapy

in #sewing8 years ago

I have rarely had a day in my 47 years that didn't involve some form of sewing. I remember staying up until midnight on a school night putting together a new outfit to wear the next day. I used to buy a brand name top just to steal the label from it to trick my friends...they usually believed that my Esprit outfit was just that (despite having an unfinished hem). I still sew but now I love to create bags and other unusual items that make me happy. Last night I sewed a bowl. Yes, I did say a bowl. If you have ever sewn something weird or unusual, share it here and let me see! Here are some of my goodies...Happy Sewing!20170514_072750[1].jpgchocoate bag.jpg

I am a 47 yr old sewing nut too and I totally know how it feels to stay up all night sewing things lol. I like your bowl very much, and your bag, I will have to get out my camera and show you some things I have made. I had an accident last year so haven't been able to go into my sewing room for so long... I miss it and it kills me not to be in there creating! I am healing slowly and it's incentive to get back to it. Happiest when I'm sewing or embroidering on my machines! Happy sewing to you =)

I hope you can get back to creating. It's great therapy. Take care and thank you for the comment.

That's cute! I once made my friend a totebag and said I would never again sew a bag. I mostly sew quilts now and I love doing that! I need to get my machine out and get something going. Looking forward to other things you have to share.

Thank you so much. I have never had the patience to learn to quilt. I do create new bags every week and I am not sure why that is easier for me. Working on one right now. Enjoy quilting and post some pics if you make anything cool!

I do need to post pics of my quilts! I have a massive pile of UFO (UnFinishedObjects). I need to get working on them!!

I love that ..."UFO's"!

@crosheille has made an initiative here on Steemit to spread needlework art and get it displayed. Sewing, knitting and crocheting seems to have become a lost art, that is until Steemit. There are quite a few crafters that still love these arts. A group of us share our needlework creations every Monday using the tag #NeedleworkMonday. We share ideas, tips, patterns and techniques while encouraging and inspiring one another. Any art involving a needle is welcome! You can post new projects that you are working on or archived projects that you have pictures of. We would love for you to join us on Mondays and post under the tag so everyone can find your work. It has gotten pretty popular these past few months and more crafters are starting to share. We hope you check it out :) Thanks for your time~

I would love to be a part of that group. Thank you for the reply. Have a great day!

Hooray! Hope to see your postings there!
