The World of Human Abstraction

in #secondpost7 years ago (edited)

It's never too late!! Hopefully at this point in your life you understand the world of made up, human words that are a representation of thoughts and the complementary neurotransmitters released that humans call "emotions". Most of the world that we have been raised in is constructed of abstractions that have nothing to do with the powerfully amazing, creative mechanism of the multiverse that is you. You and every other living thing are life itself expressing its desire to exist for absolutely no reason at all but existence itself. Not for love, especially the touchy-feely human concept, not for mission or purpose, not for queen or country, just life loving on itself. This is itself an abstraction. Life just is. Every word a human could use to talk about life is an abstraction with no meaning other than the meaning humans have agreed upon for those words. And "different" humans have different, totally subjective, ideas about those meanings. The more abstraction we are involved with, the less freedom we actually have.

On the concept of "love", Hafiz used some human words to convey this:

Even after all this time the Sun never says to the Earth, "You owe me." Look what happens with a love like that-it lights the whole sky. --Hafiz
The Sun does not ask any human for permission to shine as well. Especially not Al Gore. It does what is does. It did not have to be trained by a person to shine, it just does. That is, of course, if you believe the Sun is real and not a giant light hung by "The Government" to light up the fake, flat-earth stage humans play upon. Maybe that's what Jaques was talking about when Shakespeare had him tell us: "All the world's a stage." (sarcasm much?)
The point is the same as it always is: the Sun does not have to be taught, the squirrel does not have to be taught, the chicken does not have to be taught-they just be.
The abstract cliche of "Are you a human being or a human doing?" comes to my fevered, human brain. But that may have absolutely nothing to do with you. That's my code to debug that I received from the others.
I do my best everyday to spend some time, at least, being as mindful as I can. To me it is ALL a play. Words, words, words. There is a point where the concepts become completely illogical and hypocritical and I have to cut them off. It's not worth the computing power in my big 'ol head. Something a little closer to true freedom exists in the understanding that who and what we are exists outside of any prison made up of the words, feelings or actions of any other human.
You and I and all the rest are life's longing for itself, to paraphrase Gibran. Read the full poem here.
And everything you just read could be complete bull hockey.
Enjoy,
n.
