In the post I made about the possibilities of an extraterrestrial alien colony, a comment was made by @justtryme90. In the last phrase of his comment, he quipped:
I truly hope we are not alone in this vast universe. It seems a statistical improbability that we are - @justtryme90
Well, I think this statement is almost being validated by the major breakthrough that has been experienced in the discovery of two inhabitable planets.
Before now, there has been an age-long quest to find life beyond our earth, since astrophysicists have postulated that there's a possibility of an extraterrestrial life form. But instead of searching for the life forms planet-by-planet, the quest was narrowed down to searching for habitable planets. And recently, a major breakthrough was made (consolidating the breakthrough made in 2015).
Astroscientists discovered supersize Earth's versions; far away in the Leo Constellation. The first one discovered is K2-18b (super earth).
But very amazing, this planet has a close neighboring look-alike planet; K2-18c. But while the first one has more possibilities of supporting Alien life because of its placement in "Solar Sweetspot", the second one is still under contention.
One of the lead researchers; Dr Ryan Cloutier was able to come up with some calculations on the density and mass of K2-18b; and he has concluded that it could support alien life (not fully certain though).
The distance of K2-19b from here is about 111light years (6.25x10^17 miles away) in Leo constellation. This is according to the calculation from Dr Bofin (European Southern Observatory). And yes; these planets don't orbit in our solar system. They orbit a red dwarf star.
Does this planet support life form?
Well, I won't have you ignorant of the fact that this is not absolutely certain, but there are facts that point out to features that could support life. These do not meet the earth's standard though, but they are the closest to inhabitable planet that has ever been discovered.
According to Dr Ian O'Neil (astrophysicist and space producer):
If life would exist in another planet apart from the earth, these are the major contenders - Dr Ian O'Neil [Paraphrased by me]
But with all these discoveries, will humans be able to visit any of them soon? Currently, this is almost impossible; maybe future will tell.
Thanks for reading

The planets are always very far from us. Unless we come up with aircraft to beat the speed of light many times, then we would have the hope of reaching such planet in this century.
Lol. Or maybe we can figure out a way to teleport ourselves there
Ok. Lets go teleporting then :)
