Well, its really nice to have "hardware wallet", but "hardware wallet" == "hardware security".
If hardware is broken - your wallet is broken.
I think hardware wallet is nice to have, but i think its still important to backup private key in some another secure place. For example you can print it and stick to the bottom of the drawer in your home, or i as prefer backup it in some encrypted form in a 2 free clouds (like Google Drive and Dropbox).
Just encrypted zipped notepad file is still secure as much as your password. Dont forget it!
