The term Reptilian brain I find fascinating, the oldest of the three compartments of our brain which controls the body's vital functions such as heart rate, breathing, body temperature and mental & physical balance. Our reptilian brain includes the main structures found in a reptile's brain, a brain is reliable but tending to be compulsive in manner.
The interesting traits generated through the reptilian brain is the drive to establish and defend territory. This is fuelled by an extremely potent "Will-To-Power", exemplified among lizards by the ritual behaviour of two rainbow lizards competing for territorial dominance. These animals have magnificent colours and like many lizards, they use head bobbing and push ups in an assertive, aggressive, courtship and greeting displays.
In explaining our three Human brain components illustrated :
Brain One is the Reptilian Brain Brain stem and cerebellum
Brain Two is the Limbic system (old Mammalian Brain) which is Wrapped around brain one, includes amygdala and hippocampus and brain three is the Neocortex (Our Thinking Brain) Outside surface (wrapped around brain two)
Our Lizard brain or Reptilian brain refers to the oldest part of the brain, the brain stem, responsible for primitive survival instincts such as aggression and fear flight or fight, whereas the limbic system is responsible for, among other things, our emotional bonding to other creatures--other humans such as family members and friends,
This intelligence centre has enabled life to survive in varied forms for millions of years. The reptilian brain being the most ancient of the brains. Combining of two hemispheres, just like the neocortex, and it may be that they relate functionally to the left and right hemispheres of the neocortex.
The reptilian brain consists of the upper part of our spinal cord and the basal ganglia, the diencephalon, and parts of the midbrain - all of which sits atop our spinal column like a door knob in the middle of our heads. It is thought to represent a fundamental core of the nervous system and derives from a form of mammal-like reptile that once ranged widely over the world but disappeared during the Triassic period having provided the evolutionary link between dinosaurs and mammals. Fascinatingly all modern mammals have this reptilian complex, including humans.
Going a step further outside the generic understanding,It is the belief by conspiracy therorists that interbreeding or fusing of reptilian DNA to mammal DNA created the Illuminati reptilian-human hybrid bloodlines and allowing the "purest" of this breed to move between human and mammals.
Reptiles once in a contest, similar to human behaviour display aggressive behaviour which gives way to violent combat, and the struggle is unrelenting. In victory, they are tyrannical dictators in the extreme. In defeat, they lose their majestic colours, lapse into a kind of a strange indescribable depression, and die two weeks later.
At least five human behaviours originate in the reptilian brain:
obsessive-compulsive behavior
personal day-to-day rituals and superstitious acts
slavish conformance to old ways of doing things
ceremonial re-enactments
obeisance to precedent, as in legal, religious, cultural, and other matters
These intelligence centres have enabled life to survive in varied forms for millions of years.
