What problems does REMME solve?

in #remme7 years ago

Back in the day people had to hire a security guard every time they needed to keep their private information confidential. With the rise of IT technologies and Internet people started to trust their personal data to the authentication via passwords and still do this in a very obscure way. The biggest problem is that most user-generated passwords are very simple because people do not want to remember and use too long or complicated phrases as individual passwords. Despite the web safety recommendations, the most popular passwords among Internet users in 2017 was “123456”.

In addition to simple passwords, people also use the same weak combinations for all websites and services where they are registered. For Internet scammers hacking into such accounts is like taking candy from a baby.

Another big problem next to weak passwords used by people online is the password storage. Hackers manage to penetrate the centralized certification-based servers where the logins and passwords of users are stored and stole them all at once.

So many problems related to Internet security, and only one solution to get rid of them all – REMME. This decentralized blockchain platform eliminates the need of using any personal passwords and decreasing the fraud risks to minimum.

Efficacy of REMME’s services is achieved thanks to the new PKI (public key infrastructure). In simple words, it offers the two-factor authentication and SLL certificates to any device plugged to the platform. The given certificate is stored within the platform’s blockchain and a fake certificate will never be accepted by the system.

It means that REMME:

  • reduces the scam risks to zero because scammers have no potential targets and methods to hack into personal accounts online;
  • allows going away from old-fashioned centralized servers;
  • gets rid of any weak chains in the process of user’s verification.

🚀 What threats can be eliminated thanks to REMME?

As you know, there are many security holes and drawbacks that potentially can be used by scammers. REMME aims to protect its users and partners from such widespread Internet security threats:

  • phishing – the sad statistics shows that over 90% of user account on cryptocurrency exchange services were hacked because of phishing;
  • brute force attacks;
  • data capture;
  • stealing keys or hacking into accounts protected by weak passwords;
  • hacking into servers;

Thanks to REMME, even in a case of losing a hardware device and all passwords connected to it, the user can contact it with the two-factor authentication from another gadget and lock any access to the stolen device.

🚀 DApps offered by REMME blockchain

In addition to the innovative security protocol PKI based on a distributed ledger, REMME will also release a bunch of DApps (decentralized applications). These apps built on the platform’s own blockchain will provide users with such additional features:

  1. Enterprise – for secured access to any internal corporate systems (think of SCADA).
  2. WebAuth – provides users with the white label verification.
  3. SDK kit for developers – any developers can with the open-source PKI protocol and create their own DApps based on the REMME blockchain.
  4. For IoT REMME offers the authorization of device-to-device communication (according to the whitepaper, the first partners will come from the smart cities and automotive sector).

In such way, REMME gives an opportunity to control private access to any added to the platform devices. Their global purpose is to replace all user-generated passwords with a distributed system of authentication. REMME will for good eliminates the necessity in usage of centralized servers that are easy to hack into. Thanks to the innovative REMME technologies, users will stay protected from phishing and brute force attacks, lost or stolen passwords/devices and many other security threats that are so dangerous right now.
