RECIPE : Stupid-easy 2 ingredient ice cream

in #recipes8 years ago (edited)

Hey guys!

Whether you’re vegan/vegetarian, paleo, gluten free or simply health conscious, you probably love ice cream. Who doesn’t? But look at an ice cream ingredient label and prepare to be disappointed… there are so many additives and sugar in regular, store-bought ice cream that anyone on the road to better health might be a little bit discouraged.

This stupid-easy recipe has 2 ingredients and 1 step! If you fail it, well, perhaps you shouldn’t operate even a toaster.

INGREDIENTS

  • One frozen very ripe banana. Like, more-brown-than-yellow-ripe.
  • 1 to 2 tablespoon (15-30 mL) of peanut butter or almond butter (if you’re paleo).

You will need a blender for this recipe!

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Put the frozen banana and nut butter in the blender and blend until smooth.

SERVES 2 SMALL BOWLS.

That’s IT. All you have to do now is eat. You could spice it up a little bit, for instance by adding :

  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) Honey in the blender (especially if your bananas are not super ripe)
  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) cocoa powder in the blender (to have a chocolated twist)
  • Crushed nuts as a topping
  • Berries as a topping
  • Bits of 70% + dark chocolate as a topping

If you’re making this recipe for more people, scale the quantities accordingly, of course.

For this recipe I have to thank my girlfriend, who’s cooking experience and aversion to losing anything food-related makes her pretty creative! Instead of having those bananas go to waste, freeze them so you can pull them out in a pinch and enjoy this delicious vegan, paleo, gluten-free ice cream.

Enjoy!

Much easier to make than Dave Asprey's Get Some Ice Cream.
Although it is pretty damn delicious!

Sounds delicious and I can handle stupid easy!
