RE: Steemit ain't Facebook

in #rant7 years ago (edited)

Wow man. The simple truth from me is this: The @minnowsupport project is a great thing for the community. Your Discord channel is fantastic. Life keeps me extremely busy, and I can't ever seem to devote the amount of time I'd like to Steemit. But . . whenever I have had a few extra minutes, I go in there an I see nothing but generally good vibes, and people helping each other.

Ok, as far as the "voting" is concerned . . I guess technically I would be considered a dolphin? I'm not even really sure, honestly.

. . . but it doesn't matter. I do use the bot. I also use some of the other helpful things people have created for the good of Steemit. It helps authors, such as myself and a slew of others . . to get more exposure.

We can pump out some insanely good content and get less than 10 views. It takes hard work, dedication, initiative . . . and with Steemit, it takes networking. Minnow Support has introduced me to a few like-minded people here. It has helped me to feel more confident in my writing. Yea, I get it, people could say that votes really don't count . . but it feels good to see more votes . . and . . in doing so, more people seem to check out the post.

I have gained followers through the channel, and followed people through the channel. My only regret, is wishing that I had more time lol

So keep doing what you're doing. Anyone with even a modicum of sense can see it isn't a get rick quick scheme, scam, or any other such nonsense. Haters gonna hate. I bet if we did a running poll of people who have had a great experience with the project, or who have met some other awesome Steemians either directly or indirectly as a result of some involvement with the MSP, the results would be staggering.

Pulling each other up is vitally important in a community based microcosm like Steemit. Thanks for the opportunity to have a positive and safe place to meet other people who love to create and read original content as much as I do.
