Mantra significa em sânscrito: Instrumento para o pensamento [adequado].
Os primeiros mantras foram encontrados nos VEDAS, livros sagrados indianos 3000 a.C.
Vem do hinduísmo e do budismo.
É composto por duas outras palavras: MAN = pensamento, mente e TRA = instrumento.
Um mantra é um som que tem um significado, tem como objetivo lembrar algo importante.
Normalmente é prescrito por um mestre, em função da necessidade do neófito.
Você pode associar a repetição mental, verbal ou entoada (voz alta) com a respiração ritmada.
É possível também associar o mantra com um YANTRA, ou seja: um símbolo.

Não se preocupe, tudo é muito simples.
Você pode entender o Mantra, como uma frase de autoafirmação.
É fundamental, saber o significado do mantra, você tem que saber o que esta recitando, independente a língua utilizada.
Podemos consideram o mantra como um instrumento do pensamento.
Uma fórmula espiritual para conexão com o Supremo.
Não é incomum ser usado para outros propósitos, como o amor e o dinheiro.

Acredito muito na eficácia dos mantras. Havia um tempo que eu tinha a disciplina de mantralizar toda semana, coisa que infelizmente não tenho mais, mas que almejo pra minha vida de novo. :)
