Auto upvoting for my favourite authors felt like the right thing to do when I came back but as time has moved on, I have felt the need to curate everything manually as well as not follow a curation trail anymore.
I believe that becoming a 100% manual curator is the best step I can take to support the community and get more involved.
It also encourages me to read more posts and to discover more writers which is always a good thing right?
I believe that automatic upvoting isn't a bad thing at all and it has helped me grow my account a lot in the past (Thank you everyone who put me on their auto upvote) but for me personally I'd like to nudge myself into being even more proactive on here!
And plus I also realized that most of the time, I was reading the posts that had my automatic upvote so now I have even more control over that piece of this puzzle.
All in all, for me this is a positive move and I hope to continue this for a long time.
Perhaps if I go on holiday, I will temporarily put on my autovoter but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
Do you use an autovoter? If yes, why?
Are you a manual curator? What do you like most about it?
Over and out,

I am almost 100% manual but I still have a few authors I support in auto mode. They do not write so often, max 3 time per week or so and some of them do not even use the POB tag or are in the POB community so votes are cast on HIVE or other communities. Other than that I vote manually what I found(and like) searching posts for my contest.
I do also have some accounts following my vote in auto-mode. The account I made for my son(kind of a bank account on the blockchain ;) ) some years ago and the account of my girlfriend. This accounts are very small fishes so is not that they make much difference in the distribution of rewards.
Yeah I understand the need to want to support writers that you enjoy automatically.
Love the account for your son. It reminds me that I wanted to do the same for my family but totally forgot. Thanks for the reminder! :)
I'm 100% manual.

Have you always been a 100% manual curator?
Manual curation.
Have you thought about using an autovoter?
I guess its the right thing to do for now as things are getting really heated up, I believe this will also foster the spreading of reward farther and not create an impression of an Oligarch small circle.
Yes exactly!! I hope to do my part in proper curation and spreading the rewards!
We will see :)
I hope others choose to do the same.
How about you? Do you autovote?
Still new to this, but, I was always skeptical of auto-voting. Seemed to create a hierarchy that benefited the top. Also, may make for some week posts every once in awhile when someone phoned a post it.

What do you mean by this? :)
Essentially when you see a post and you can tell they didn't put in the effort to make it as solid as their usual writings. They just wrote something to get a post completed. I am not saying that is some awful thing, but, probably should not be rewarded for it.

Or, as I just realized, I misspelled weak. That may be why you are confused. (Ironically, while speaking of writings lacking quality.)

Hahahah
Yep, now I get it! :)
I used some of the self-voting bots a few times back on steem but it didn’t seem like it was paying off well enough to pursue since I’m not terribly active when it comes to posting.
I didn’t know we had auto voters for favorites but now that I do know I still probably won’t use them unless it proves to be a necessity for some reason, say I stumble across too many people that deserve my fraction of 1¢. Lol. Sorry. I tried to keep it serious. I’ll do better tomorrow. 😁
Haahahahahah
Yes, you can autovote on your favourite authors!
Every little bit helps, even your fraction of 1¢ :P
I have a low hp account that autovotes so that I can keep up with certain people.
I read most of them, and vote the ones showing less than 5htu with this account.
Totally agreed and 100% upvoted 😀!
Manual curation makes a live community where people read the thread, share the point of view and discussion
