I think the reason why so many profile pictures are blank is because you can not update the profile using the wallet.hive.blog interface (or at least I could not; Transaction broadcast error: Cannot read property 'length' of undefined) This change must be done on PeakD Maybe if this was made more aware to people you would see more updated profiles. Just saying.
