I am thinking of being a surrogate mother

in #pregnancy8 years ago

I am wondering if any other mothers on here have been surrogate mothers at one point? What is it like and if it is worth carrying someone else's baby for $30,000 dollars? It seems like a good amount of money, I am in need of some money and could use it for my family. I just want to find someone who has already been through the entire experience of carrying someone else's baby and what it is like. Is it really worth carrying a baby for 9 months and going through all the stress your body will be put through just to give the baby away at the end and receive $30,000 for it?

The money

The money is great it seems like it would be worth it, but it seems like it would be hard for me. I think I might get to attached to the baby and not want to give him/her back to the family that I am being a surrogate for. So if I am going to get attached to the baby I should probably just stay away from doing this altogether, am I right?

The family

I really want to help the family out that needs the baby but it just seems like it would be hard. They are nice people they just cannot have children them self I feel bad for them. Plus it would also help me and my family in the long run financially.

Selfish

Am I just being selfish to not want to do this for this family because I might get to attached to the baby because I carried it with me for 9 months? It seems like if I don't do it that I am just being selfish. I could be helping this family out a lot. It would be rewarding to help other people, not just for the money but it would give me comfort in knowing that I helped a family out like that.

Decision

I will make my decision in the next 2 to 3 weeks. I will study up on surrogate mothers more and see what it is like. The thought that scares me is that I don't want to get to attached to the baby, then not want to give him/her away in 9 months. Please surrogate mothers if you have any comments or suggestions please leave a comment. Thank you.
