RE: Voting for Evil

in #politics6 years ago

Sure, Donald Trump is a divisive figure. But has their been any mention of actual policy in this "Most Important Election in Our LifetimeTM"?

  • Deficit spending
  • Supporting Saudi Arabia's war in Yemen (because they finance both major political parties)
  • The "Russia-gate" deception the Democrats spent the past two years foaming at the mouth over, which now appears to not have happened despite how often late-night comedians talk about it as accepted fact
  • Tax policy, particularly tariffs which are effectively a regressive tax
  • Government spying on everyone, including US citizens with no ties to terrorism
  • The erosion of liberties, particularly constitutional rights which can hardly be called rights if government immunizes itself against liability for violating them
  • Social Security expecting unfunded liability between $11.4 trillion and $32.1 trillion by 2090. This is according to the CBO, the SSA Board of Trustees (Summary here), and translated into plain language by CNBC here and USA Today here

Do you hear any political candidate talking about any of these or other extremely important issues?

No, of course not. All we hear from politicians is how corrupt and evil "the other guy" is.

And they're all correct.
