We been on it for about 2 years, no issues yet. We've read many testimonials and they were all positive. We know someone who had a surprise c-section and CHM came through for them, they were really happy with the experience. You do have to negotiate the bill, but CHM helps you with that process. It's technically NOT insurance, but a type of charity. It shocks the doctors and hospitals when you tell them you are uninsured, but there is a tax status for bill-sharing that avoids any fines. They will often reduce your bill drastically if you tell them you are uninsured and paying out-of-pocket, often reducing the bill by 40%.

We have given an extra $25 donation each month to help pay down extremely high bills for people. We receive personal thank you letters in the mail when some of these big bills (upwards of 100K!) finally get paid off. We've seen auto accidents covered, open heart surgery, cancer with complications, hip and knee replacements all covered by CHM. It's nice to know that if we were ever in a dire situation like that, we'd have people ready and willing to help us too.

I signed my family up because once you grow to a family of 4, the rate does not increase with any more children. Excellent for larger families.

@ironshield

That's very interesting. This would save us thousands per year. I still haven't had time to check the site but I will tomorrow. I really appreciate the information!

You're very welcome. It feels good to get out of the insurance trap. I hope you can find something that works for you. @ironshield
