Bitcoin Going Going Going

in #politics2 days ago (edited)

If you've been on the internets lately then you've probably come across at least 300 memes by now detailing the rise of bitcoin since the Trump win had been announced. Where is this train headed now that it has been widely circulated that Trump might be a positive for cryptocurrency innovation and bitcoin acceptance in the country.

Some think that huge milestones for bitcoin aren't that far off, we might even allegedly see some this year.

Are we going to see a similar experiment with bitcoin like we've seen unfold in El Salvador?

Since adopting bitcoin in the region in El Salvador there have been a variety of benefits reported as a result of that change. From tourism benefits to an influx of potential investment from businesses and others, it is a decision that has been widely celebrated. However, it isn't all sunshine and rainbows as there have been some challenges along the way which is to be expected. As far as who is still using this as legal tender in this fashion around the world it is very early.

Many are expecting that Trump is going to bring some big changes for the country as far as cryptocurrency and bitcoin and despite those changes being cheered for there though, there are always going to be those who aren't happy with the new direction. Are things still just getting started in that it's very early for this market space? With the way things are going how many more similar memes might we see through the rest of this year? And how many more bitcoin might the US gov seek to secure once Trump is in office?

Ideally, Trump will say individuals owe no income taxes and will not be subjected to any other nanny state intrusions into their crypto holdings, but I'm not holding my breath. Goernment oversight should be limited to caveat emptor and laissez-faire.
