Today was a sad day for America. The Helsinki summit between Trump and Putin offered Trump a chance to rebuke Russian meddling in the 2016 US Presidential Election. Instead he disgraced the US Intelligence Community and sided with President Putin over conclusive evidence from the CIA, FBI, NSA & National Intelligence Office which pointed to Russian cybercrimes in the 2016 US Presidential Election.
1. Trump talked about obstruction from Democrats in the Helsinki Summit
"As president I cannot make decisions on foreign policy to appease the media or the Democrats who want to do nothing but resist and obstruct."
- He is putting national security and election integrity on the back burners and is making these issues partisan
- He is bashing the media and Democrats for demanding Mueller's investigation to proceed (Which he is trying to obstruct)
2. Trump called Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russian Meddling of the 2016 US Elections a "disaster for our country"
"The probe is a disaster for our country. I think it has kept us apart. There was no collusion at all..., so far that I know virtually nothing related to the campaign. "
- He is bashing the intelligence community and the investigation which is a matter of national security for the US
- He is the one who is making the investigation a partisan issue and dividing us over it
3. Trump can't stop bragging about beating Hillary Clinton in the 2016 US Elections
"It was a clean campaign. I beat Hillary Clinton easily and frankly we beat her…We won that race and it’s a shame that there can be even a little bit of a cloud over it."
- He is showing his repeated personal insecurities about the 2016 US Elections on the World Stage by consistently bringing this up
4. Trump said that because Putin said Russia didn't hack the elections, they didn't
“Putin just said it’s not Russia. I do not see any reason why it should be"
- Right, because the Soviet dictator Putin is always telling the truth.
5. Trump sides with Putin's verbal denial over hard evidence by his own intelligence community
“I have great confidence in my intelligence people but President Putin was extremely strong and confident in his denial today.”
- The Justice Department indicted 12 Russian GRU agents as part of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election, accusing them of engaging in a "sustained effort" to hack Hillary Clinton and DNC emails and computer networks.
- But Trump had more confidence in Putin's denial because Putin has America's own national security interests at heart over the US Intelligence Community, makes sense.
6. Trump says that he changed the relationship between US & Russia in a 2 Hour meeting & in a conflict which has not been resolved for 50 years since the dawn of the Cold War.
"Our relationship has never been worse than it is now, however that changed as of about four hours ago."
- The relationship between the US and Putin-led Russia has been historically bad because Putin is assisting the Syrian regime of committing humanitarian crimes against its own people, he annexed Crimea, he poisoned an Ex-spy in London, he meddled in 2016 US elections & he is a dictator who suppresses free speech and assassinates political or journalistic dissidents in his countries and keeps rigging Russian elections. But I suppose all that is in the past now?
