RE: If Cultural Appropriation is Wrong, What About Technological Appropriation?

...which is why I will be taking away your article rewards from now on.

I would strongly advise against that. It’s possible to keep disagreements contained within the relevant post(s). Downvoting unrelated content because you’re having a tantrum usually ends badly.

I would suggest that you reconsider those downvotes on the unrelated posts.

Sort:

is an investor scam, nobody helped me. I contacted the Steemit FB page, I contacted some whales on steemit chat, but nobody would intervene. You'd think, right? But when @geetinstitute began flagging all of my articles for a while because I said that the geet engine

I was in the right, and trying to prevent Steemians from being swindled, but in the end @geetinstitute got his way because of powerful friends (@fulltimegeek primarily) and I had to surrender.

@blackvapor seems to have lost interest for the time being. If that keeps up, probably I will remove those flags. But I do not feel that defending myself against somebody who floods my comments with abusive spam constitutes a tantrum. What obligation do I have to allow myself to be trampled on?

“Defending yourself” does not equate to downvoting unrelated content. I don’t care if it happened to you in the past. If you believe it was wrong when it happened to you - and it was - then you’re just being a hypocrite now.

I see you feel strongly about this, but I hope you will still consider my perspective.

Defending myself does equate to downvoting his content, because that leverages his concern for his own earnings to motivate him to stop spamming. If I didn't do that, he would still be spamming me. You also seem unmoved by the fact that when I was flagged by @fulltimegeek for illegitimate reasons, he was not scolded or punished, and nobody would help me. Why should it be different this time?

I will eventually remove the flags btw, I am just making sure he's done spamming. If you have a better idea for how to deal with abusive spammers in the future, I'd like to hear it.
