I haven't owned a TV in over 10 years.
-- Am I ignorant of the world and what is going on? NO !
A long time ago I decided that modern day TV programming was a distraction. Have you ever sat in front of your TV and flipped through a 100 channels to find something worth watching? Did you pick something that your were not interested in but didn't turn your stomach? If so, then you know how I felt.
Now I'm an intelligent man and had already had alternative venues for getting my current and political news. As the Internet developed, more channels opened up more alternative news.
Today, I can usually find out the state of the world with an hour's browsing time on Twitter.
While Steemit is an interesting social media site, it has to change to match Twitter as a political clearing house.
Nuff said.
I totally I agree with you. I have turned off my tv for the last 10 years and it's a completely new way of life.
