I once had an enchanting goddess
Who painted my sores with honey
Her name like the gush of many waters
My lover Ajuwaa
When the sun rises at dawn
I will remember your smile
Come, come my friend
Let me tell you a story
Of how mother-earth turned a gift I treasured into dust
How I now wander aimlessly in my dreams
How I now let my tears flow freely down my cheeks so they create a dent in her memory
Come my friend!
Evil roamed the night
The wind was merciless
The udara tree had fallen
So did your eyes—Till eternity
You departed without warning
Without a second thought
And I wonder if you did not think of me
Death's but a cruel tyrant
Ajuwaa !
This betrayal is a kind beyond pardon
You promised we would always be together
I took your word
And registered it in the journal of my heart
Oh lords of the grave!
Tell Ajuwaa I'd be waiting
Tell her I never stopped writing her name in the sands
Tell her that like broken figurine
I have been shattered to fine matter
They come in different colours, sizes and shape
But it's you my love i'd be waiting on
Till we meet to part no more
Adieu Ajuwaa...
So touching @sikan-eyen
😪😪
Well that certainly puts a dent in my poem about old forgotten shoes. The story of loss a sad one. It eventually enters every life that dares to love. 😢
