I loved you before I met you
Then we met,
And our hearts were knitted as one
You were my everything and I was yours.
Or so I thought.
I did everything I could to make you happy,
But it was not enough.
I was never good enough for you.
I gave you my all but you gave me your least.
Still I loved you.
Then you broke my heart
And looked me straight in the eye.
How cruel of you to hurt someone
who will have given their life for you.
I was shattered.
I vowed never tolove again.
Then I met him and everything changed.
I learnt how to love again.
He is what you will never be,
A strong and kind man.
You broke my heart and he mended it.
Now you want to be friends,
But you were never my friend in the first place.
Thanks but, no thanks,
For I have found a love sweeter than true.
