After league this past Sunday, four of us got together for some dollar games. What are dollar games? Exactly what they sound like - each person bets a dollar on a game - the winner takes all. There were four of us - so there were four dollars up for grabs each game. We played six games. When you play the Dollar Games you win or you drain.
The players:
Lewis (Pounds)
Silas
James
Me (G$)
I took the first two games and the $8 up for grabs, but after that - I fell apart. Lewis took game 3 - and we have some video of his 3rd ball, so let's take a look at what he was doing. The game is Supersonic. The goal is a two-parter. Part 1 - Light the spinner. Part 2 - Rip the spinner. Lewis executes to perfection.
Sorry for the camera angle - I leave it up to your imagination as to how he makes the save at the 20 second mark! Right after that you will hear me say "on the fly," at the 28 second mark - and that refers to the fact that Lewis takes a moving ball and sends it precisely through the spinner without stopping and aiming. This is very hard to do, but in case you thought it was luck - pretty much every shot he sends through the spinner is on the fly. It definitely isn't luck. Nice game Pounds!
Jumping forward to our last game of the night - we enter game six with individual win totals as follows: Myself 2, Silas 2, Lewis 1, and James 0. I break this down at the beginning of the video - and we watch Silas tattoo Harlem Globetrotters on ball one. Please forgive me for spinning around at 2:20 - if you forgive me, I promise to never do it again, and I'll even learn how to edit video. Deal?
Check out the skillful drain at the 37 second mark. Silas had his ball travel from the top of the playfield all the way down to the flippers without hitting a switch (without scoring a point). Silas purposely didn't flip - and the game got tricked into thinking it never served a ball into the plunger lane. So it gave Silas the ball back - and he plunged again. This time - his ball went into the hole up top and he earned a GLOBE letter and a few thousand points. Nice play!
What a great ball. We all started in the hole big time, but Lewis climbed out and won his second game. Impromptu competitive pinball is fun - and well worth the price of admission. I love this stuff. Look for my next post after this weekend's event at DJ's house. I can't wait to share it with you. It will include a video of "Creature from the Black Lagoon," per the request of @fezziwig.
I wouldn't be anywhere on steemit if not for my friends at VOTU. If you are interested - check us out below.
