I was lucky to live in the path of totality for todays eclipse. There was a strong storm that came through the area and I thought we were going to miss it, but about 20 minutes before it started the clouds broke up and we were able to see the eclipse. I wasn't sure how the pictures would turn out as I only have a Nikon Coolpix camera, but for a novice I think they turned out okay.

Nice shots. We only had an 80% coverage in VA. We were out of the 70 mile track. Bad storm came through just as it was starting. Hardly any more view after that.
Cool! I was not in its direct path, but it was neat to watch. There were some clouds, which actually helped as a filter for my camera and I was able to get some footage of it. Did it get a lot darker when the sun was completely blocked out? I know here it was just a touch darker and the sun did not feel as hot.
It did get quite a bit darker here. When the moon was totally covering the sun you could see the stars it was unlike anything I have ever seen. The temperature dropped from the upper 70's into the upper 60's.
Wow that must have been pretty awesome!
Awesome!
I wish I was able to see the total eclipse.
I got some great shots of what we had of the eclipse in Manitoba, I used a pair of welding goggles to view and as a filter on my camera.

It looks like the welding goggles worked out good, you got some nice shots. I had the paper glasses that we purchased about a month ago, and it's a good thing we got them because thy were sold out around my area about 4 days before the eclipse so people that waited were out of luck. I will have to remember welding goggles in 2024 if I cant find the cheap ones.
Very nice pics. I as able to take some great pictures as well because there was a considerable amount of cloud cover, allowing my kids and I to view it with the naked eye!

Thank you for checking out my pictures, you got some nice shots. It was glasses for us until the moon totally covered the sun, then we had about 1min 8 seconds without the glasses.
