Off the beaten path
a chance encounter with deer;
silence is beckoned

The white-tailed deer in Bois-des-Esprits are always a treat to watch. They are so used to human beings that they will let you approach them very close. Sometimes, you can almost touch them.
However, as much as I enjoy photographing them, I try to remind myself of the fact that they are wildlife and that I am just a guest in their house...
