We solve problems in programming by breaking one big problem into several tiny problems. Globalism and globalization is akin to solving your problems with a global variable.
Problem is, I have colleagues say to me: that concern is orthogonal to the problem we're trying to solve. And yes, analytical separation of concerns works - but only to a certain extent. A lot of the issues we're dealing with are tangles. Think about it.
