Journey to Peru – From the Coast to the Mountains – Machu Picchu & the Amazon

in #peru7 years ago

This won’t be your typical tourist routine. On Wednesday January 03 we will fly out of New York’s winter and into Lima, Peru’s summer. The capital of Peru this time of year is home to blue skies, warm sunny weather, beaches and beautiful sights to see. In Lima, we will sample some of Peru’s world famous cuisine, meet up with fellow Peruvian NA members, visit an NA meeting. We’ll top off a NA night with some Peruvian style fellow-shipping with the locals in NA. After a little touring in Lima we’ll travel north about 2 hours the ancient ruins of Caral.

After 2 days on the coast we’ll fly to Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire. We’ll explore the jewel that is the city of Cusco. From Cusco we will travel along the winding roads of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, exploring various ancient sites including but not limited to Sacsayhuaman, Pisac, and Ollantaytambo. During our time in the Andes we will be staying at the Moon Temple Retreat. A beautiful lodge created by our old friend Jarek Kielar on the out skirts of the city in the midst of the beauty of the Andes. At the end of the Sacred Valley of the Incas lies the crown jewel of the Ancient Incan world – Machu Picchu.

After the adventure of the Andes and the ancient world of the Incas we’ll travel via a luxury coach sleeper bus to city of Puerto Maldonado in the Peruvian Amazon. Here we will stay the Tambopata Research Center. This is the most remote jungle lodge in the Amazon. There are no humans nearby so sightings of monkeys, macaws and other large species become more frequent. We will then travel to spend one night with The Camunidad Nativa Palmareal. This is a native community which has invited us for one night to learn about their customs.

The peace and serenity one experiences in the Andes and Amazon is without parallel. In both the Andes Mountain and Amazon Rain Forest we will have the opportunity to meet with and exchange with the indigenous people. I have no doubt the exchanges we will have with the indigenous peoples of Peru will forever alter your perceptions and will leave a mark on your spirit and soul. Ending our trip in Amazon will leave you with a sense of peace and serenity which you will carry back to states with you.

Sounds amazing. Some steemit tips. Add some photos. You should introduce yourself to the community using the #introduceyourself tag

I was wondering about that. I rushed it because I didn't want to go through the process of first uploading them to https://imgsafe.org/ and now it seems like I can't add them after the fact. I will have to revamp the post and do more official introduction. Thanks for the feedback sir.

Welcome to Steemit and sounds quite an adventure you have planned with the winter we are likely to have in NY this year getting to the warm. Weather of Peru then will be incredible

Thank you my friend. It is indeed going to be a great adventure. Will be writing more on it and my organization later today. It will be summer in Peru so it will be hot and gorgeous! It's always nice to escape the Northern Hemisphere's winter for the summer of the Southern Hemisphere!

Indeed it is a good time for the trip I used to go to NZ over Christmas and New Year every year or two

Good morning and welcome to Steemit! This sounds like quite the Amazing Adventure that you will be on. I look forward to hearing more about it and seeing your adventure as it unfolds. I'm not sure you could have picked a better time to go.

As far as this platform goes, if there is anything any of us can do for you, help you with, or anything, please let us know. Until then, I'll see you in the comment section.

Wow that is so kind of you! Thank you very much. Will do!

Sounds like an amazing trip. Someday... without flying as my Honey @recoveryroader doesn't fly. :)
