For San Luis Obispo's first annual Village Building Convergence, we played an April fool's joke on our Mayor!
We told her we were going to gift her a Little-Free Library, but what we didn't tell her was that first, we were going to show up with a falling-apart paint-splattered version of it, made by kids with scrap material! As she pretended to be impressed by it, someone emerged from around the corner with the actual Little-Free Library, which was very carefully painted and designed, and matches her house! There was a lot of laughter and hugs that followed. Then we planted a bunch of flowers and herbs in her front yard, and then made our way over to the Chumash farm to plant plants for our indigenous Chumash elders, and have a closing ceremony for our convergence.
