Now Playing: Week 34 - The Damn Truth - Devilish Folk (2016)

The Damn Truth "Devilish Folk" (Fineline Records Inc. 2016)

The Damn Truth is a band based in Montreal (Canada). Fronted by Lee-La Baum, a powerful singer who also plays guitar, the band takes classic rock sounds and gives them a modern touch. Following the way of bands like Rival Sons or Blues Pills, The Damn Truth can be one of the bands of the near future. Lee-La Baum and the rest of the band have rock in their veins, I hope they have some luck and we can see them playing in big venues. Meanwhile we can enjoy music from their last release "Devilish Folk".

"Heart is cold" has a nice heavy riff, it could have been taken from Black Sabbath, but the guitar solo has a modern touch. And they have recorded a music video that's a perfect display of their music.

"Get With You" has the flavour of dirty rock & roll, with the crudity of the riffs and the sensuality of Lee-La voice that seems to have been filtered to give her a modern touch.

Broken Blues (live) remembers me a lot the Swedes Blues Pills. A blues structure with heavy guitars riffs. Awesome.

Dude, i love you for posting about this band! After the first 15 seconds of the first song I knew i will love them and after two songs i can say: fuck yes!

I'm on the verge of writing an angry letter to Spotify for not mention them in the "similar bands" of Blues Pills or Halestorm 😁
Keep on writing!

Spotify has a lot to learn from humans 😂😂
Happy to know that you're enjoying the band! And you're right about Halestorm, I didn't mention them but sure, the modern touch and the singer have some similarities too.
Cheers!
