Spent my weekend somewhere in the jungle. I need me some fresh air. It is only Jan 11th but feels fucked by life already. Well, I hope you my people had good times. I've heard that some celebrities have joined the NFT gang lately. Found some names on twitter. Ohh if you want us to link I'm on twitter too. The @ is chachababe. So, it looks like everyone has joined the gang now. I mean I get it if celebrities try to get into this thing. They probably run out of ideas to waste their money. It is actually a cool move to get everyone's (non-celeb) finally join the gang as well.
The Bored Ape Yacht Club
I'm going to talk about the top 2 NFT club/project this time. I heard the famous one that people have been talking about is The Bored Ape Yacht Club. The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, Rappers Eminem, Lil Baby, Snoop Dogg, DJ Steve Aoki until the basketball player Stephen Curry bought NFTs from The Bored Ape Yacht Club. The one that Jimmy Fallon got was worth about $224,000 worth of ETH in early November. He posted it on twitter with a caption "Permission to come a bored?". KRAAAZZYY.
Stephen Curry
The second one I'm going to talk about is Stephen Curry's NFT. The one of NBA champion is probably not the first one who bought the NFT from Bored Ape but he surely the prominent one in the late August last year. The NFT was worth for about $180,000 worth of ETH at the time. Ok Mr.Curry I see you.
Eminem
The last one is the Rap God Eminem. He bought an NFT that looks exactly like him. It is called EminApe and sports a military-urban peaked cap above its enervated face. Reportedly worth around $450,000 (£334,000) for it. WTF WTF WTF. Damn where can I get a man that gonna buy me one?
Crypto Punks
Number 2 famous NFT club is called Crypto Punks. This is as crazy as Mutant Ape because I've been seeing celebrities using the cartoon NFT as their avatar on Twitter and Instagram. I personally think it's cool because it looks like a bunch of pixels. And I guess some celebrities think the same because some of them actually bought it. Producer and rapper, Jay Z, model and athlete Serena Williams reportedly have joined the gang. Other names like Marshmello, Snoop Dogg, Steve Aoki, and footballer Odell Beckham Jr. They're officially part of the gang.
Jay Z
The famous rapper and producer Jay Z bought his first CryptoPunk in April 2021. It is Punk #6095 that costs him around $120,000. The rapper told the world about his purchase by using it as his Twitter profile pic.
Serena Williams
My woman Serena Williams has reportedly joined the gang too! She owns Punk #2950 but, the interesting part is that she did not buy it herself. My woman knows whatsup. Her husband Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit, gifted her the NFT. Ok now I'm announcing that I'm welcoming anyone that wants to send me a gift, you can get me an NFT instead because Chachababe is not into flowers anymore.
Snoop Dogg
The rap legend Snoop Dogg owns a total of nine CryptoPunks. He is literally obsessed and so into this shit. Fucking 9 in total. WTF. Two of the nine Punks are the Zombie Punks that are valued at around $2 million each. Let's say it again but twice. WTF WTF. There is this incident that happened on Twitter, account name is @cozomomedici. The account has amassed a following within the NFT Space and cryptocurrency. The rapper is actually behind the account.
What do you think my cool people? For me personally this insane. Not only the celebrities but literally everyone's doing it now. It is actually a good thing for the creators/artist when these celebs finally joined the gang. It helps them to show the world that this is the future that we choose. For the better, easier, and cooler. That is all for today. Chachababe ouuuut!
I was always against owning pixels, but since I got a Hive Punk I changed my mind slightly. If it is established series (something that people want), it is not that different of getting a physical "thingy".
