METEOR IN #MICHIGAN: FIREBALL VIDEO and CRASH SITE

in #news7 years ago

A meteorite flew over Michigan on Jan.16 exploding in the night sky with enough force to register an earthquake

NASA is already coming forward with explanations:

“The asteroid hit the atmosphere, moving about 28,000 miles per hour, broke apart over southeast Michigan and scattered meteorites on the ground,’’ said Bill Cooke, lead of the NASA meteoroid environment office. “Out in space it’s called a meteoroid, when it’s in the air it’s a meteor and pieces on the ground are meteorites.’’

There is another video circulating online allegedly showing the crash site , thanks to Youtube channel GitFit Active

It's rather difficult to say if a meteorite could create so little damage, let me know what you think.
