Intel wants to remove BIOS support in motherboards by 2020 to enhance their security. The end of support for old components and non-EUFI compatible operating systems.
But for some, this forced hardware and software update does not work. Some versions of Linux are not compatible, and part of the community is concerned that the move to the whole UEFI may still favour Windows. Activated by default, a secure mode of the UEFI Class 3+ can prevent the installation or change of an OS, limiting our freedom to dispose of our computers.
The founder of Linux, Linus Torvalds, does not hide his contempt for the UEFI.
