Great Mills High School

There has been a Shooting at Great Mills High School. The school is on lock down the event is contained, the Sheriff's office is on the scene additional information to follow. Parents/Guardians should go to Leonardtown HS for reunification with GMHS students.

According to CNN's research, there have been 16 confirmed school shootings this year in the United States prior to Tuesday. Last week, students at Great Mills High School walked out of class as part of a student-led protest against school violence in the wake of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
Several students from Stoneman Douglas tweeted about the Great Mills school shooting on Tuesday, offering their thoughts and calling for an end to gun violence in schools.

A little over a month ago in this US federal state there was also shooting, in front of the headquarters of the National Security Agency (NSA) in Fort Meade. The last shooting at a school in the United States was just a month ago in Florida, when he sped out a 19-year-old man who killed 17 people. The shooting took place during parade ,co-organized by surviving students from Parkland, in Washington to invite deputies to bring more stringent weapons legislation.
