6772 Humaidi (Rh) ... narrated from Tariq bin Shihab (Rh). He said, "A Jew said to Umar (R), O chief of the believers! If this verse was revealed to us today, "I have perfected your religion for you and made my favor upon you, and chose Islam as your religion" (5: 3), then we would have considered that day as Eid (festival) day. Umar (R) said, "I certainly know what the verse was sent down." This verse was revealed on the Day of Arafat on Jumu'ah.

6773 Narrated by Anas bin Malik (R) that when the Muslims accepted Abu Bakr's offer on the second day and he was seated on the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah (
). Umar (R) heard him (Anas) to read Hammad and Chana and Kalima martyr before Abu Bakr (ra). He said, "Then Allah has preferred what he has for his messenger more than what he had for you." And this is the book through which Allah has guided your Messenger (). So hold it together. Then you will get the guidance that Allah gave to His Apostle (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
