We will always need men to design the software and control the robots. They are very useful at the factory. We tend to imagine that the machine will become conscious while we are not yet able to explain what consciousness is. There is, for example, no robot-shepherd because it requires human interaction between humans and animals. Characteristics such as emotionality, sensitivity or imagination are symbolic of man and inimitable by machines. The human being is afraid to fade in his own creations. One is fascinated by every technical progress causing both fear and admiration.
