If you research the perils of modern warfare you will see a documented history of electonic/cyber attack, probably the most famous was the stuxnet virus that took down Iran's nuclear reactor with a phone call.

For a time, I was employed by our government as a submarine hunter on a fast frigate. This was a boring job in a tiny room crammed with me, an FTC, and all the electronics.

I'm sure you can imagine what an honor it was for McCain to see his namesake take to the water. I doubt however (unless you were in the navy) you can fully conceive how much of a humiliation it is to see your same ship blunder itself into dry-dock oblivion.
