Moon Lake - "Face to Face" | NPR Tiny Desk Contest 2018

in #music7 years ago (edited)

National Public Radio (NPR) does a giant service to the global music community by hosting live concerts in a raw, close-up and personal format: The Tiny Desk Concert. Countless musicians have had the privilege of performing at the tiny desk of Bob Boilen, host of NPR's of All Songs Considered, but only a select few have been fortunate to perform as the winners of the NPR Tiny Desk Contest.

The rules are quite simple: Perform original music in front of a desk and record it. Use an iPhone or hire an entire production team. They've created a contest solely about the quality of music (Sounds very familiar to the Steemit Open Mic Contest hosted by @luzcypher.

Here is my submission for the 2018 NPR Tiny Desk Contest. The song is titled "Face to Face" and features a desk made of a piece of plywood resting on two pillars.

You are on the air tonight
Floating on my point of view
A true woman I
Wait for when the days are blue
I knew it was you

Somewhere lost and far away
Words I've conjured up to say
To lay on your mind
If there ever comes a time
I find you are mine

How am I prepared to say
You are gone and that's okay
And make mistake
Never sharing face to face
A gaze of embrace
