Hi guys!
I'm here again with another music challenge post. I feel like I've taken quite too long on this challenge, so I'll try my best to move as fast as I can.
Before I proceed, I would like to take a few lines to appreciate the guys with the @illuminati-inc project for the job they're doing to reward good posts about music on steemit. Frankly, I had no idea about @illuminati-inc until I woke up to see their massive upvote on my last #musicchallenge post. Out of curiosity, I checked out their blog and I saw the amazing job they're doing. So, big ups guys, and keep on with the good work.
So, back to the #musicchallenge , being the Day 5, I'll be writing about a song that is often stuck in my head.
Over the years, several songs have been on constant replay in my head.
I've had several songs like Lorde's Royals, Pharrel's Happy, Ed Sheeran's Don't etc, stuck in my head for a while at one point in time in last few years. The truth is that one song can't be stuck in my head forever. In this case, I like to think that my mind works like the billboard hot 100. A song (the song stuck in my head), may enjoy the number one spot for weeks, but eventually it'll get knocked off the number spot in time. I guess I'll just have to write about the song that is stuck in my head currently.
For a few weeks now, I've been unable to kick Rudimental's These Days outta my head. It keeps playing over and over in my head, and it gets cooler by the day.
"These Days" is a song by English drum and bass band Rudimental, featuring British singers Jess Glynne and Dan Caplen as well as American rapper Macklemore. Although it was released back in January , but my love for the song has grown massively over the last couple of weeks. I guess Macklemore is a great reason why I love this song, as I'm a big fan of his rap, especially the one he did on the "Same Love" song, and more importantly, it is pretty easy to relate to the nostalgia in the song.
If you haven't heard the song before now, well this post was really really meant for you. And you have heard it before, enjoy it one more time.
Here's the official video
To appreciate the song more, you might wanna learn the lyrics...
I know you moved onto someone new
Hope life is beautiful
You were the light for me to find my truth
I just wanna say, thank you
Leaving to find my soul
Told her I had to go
And I know it ain't pretty
When our hearts get broke
Too young to feel this old
Watching us both turn cold
Oh, I know it ain't pretty
When two hearts get broke
Yeah, I know it ain't pretty
When two hearts get broke
I hope someday
We'll sit down together
And laugh with each other
About these days, these days
All our troubles
We'll lay to rest
And we'll wish we could come back to these days, these days
These days, these days
These days, these days
Three years of ups and downs
Nothing to show for it now
And I know it ain't pretty when the fire burns out
Calling me when I'm drunk, remind me of what I've done
And I know it ain't pretty when you're trying to move on, yeah
I hope someday
We'll sit down together
And laugh with each other
About these days, these days
All our troubles
We'll lay to rest
And we'll wish we could come back to these days, these days
Oh I know, I know
Oh I know, I know
Oh I know, I know
These days, these days
Oh I know, I know
Oh I know, I know
Oh I know, I know
To these days, these days
Cigarettes in the ash tray
Reminiscing on those past days
I thought you’d end up with my last name
But that changed
And I travelled around the world
Think where you living at now?
I heard you moved to Oxford
Got an apartment and settled down
And every once in a while
I start texting
Write a paragraph
But then I delete the message
Think 'bout you like a past time
I could cry you a river
Get you baptised or
I wasn't ready to act right
Used to always think I'd get you back, right
They say that things fall apart (yeah)
We were gonna move to Brooklyn
You were gonna study Art (oh no, oh)
Love is just a tool
To remind us who we are
And that we are not alone
When we're walking in the dark
I hope someday
We'll sit down together
And laugh with each other
About these days, these days
All our troubles
We'll lay to rest
And we'll wish we could come back to these days, these days
We'll wish we could come back to these days, these days (these days, these days, these days)
