So i just woke up, the time says 00:42 am, i get that the US is 7 hours behind us, but gosh! I have to post at night in order for the US to see it in the evening? Time can be a weird thing.
However, i intent to talk about another totally different topic today.
Buckle up ladies, you are about to learn!
My sound vs yours
Despite it being part of our daily routine, we dont think too much about what sound is.
I mean, we listen to music everyday, on the car radio, on our ridiculously expensive iphone X's, however the technical aspect of this is super, duper, boring.
See sound is nothing more than energy, carried in vibrating air waves, that reach our ears by propagating through air.
When you hit lets say a spoon on a table, energy is transfered from the impact of the spoon and table, causing the air around to vibrate in a certain way and in a particular frequency or set of frequencies. These vibrations transfer energy from one air molecule to the other until it reaches our ear drums, which converts the sound energy to meaningful jargons that is then sent off to our brain for some interpretation.
This above, is not an official sciencey explanation or whatever, no this above is how i understand it.
When I say ** my sound vs your sound** I mean the sound that i make. See, we as human have very unique voices, and while it may not be as unique as our fingerprints, its still pretty useful,so useful that sci fi films and a few rel life examples use it as a way of identification.
Humans produce sound via the lungs, larynx and the hollow structures within our head.
The process starts when we exhale expended air within our body. The process of exhaling from our lungs vibrates the vocal cords located at the top of our windpipe in a certain way. This vibration creates a "buzz" which is then shaped by the hollow parts of our skull called that "resonates". The resulting sound is what we classify as our voice.
Once again the above isn't a scientific explanation, just how I try to simplify it.
There are some facts about a persons personal voice
One of them is the fact that your voice sounds bigger, tougher, thicker in your head!
Yes, when you think you are speaking with a deep seated baritone voice, you are mostly just a plain tenor, and when you think you have an angelic voice, think again, what you hear is a combination of whats resonating in your head, and the sound reflections from around you. The brain then fools you to think that maybe, just maybe you sound like the next Elton John.
the mic couldn't take much more of the singing, so it burnt itself
This brings me to my conclusion of cause,
mix and master
These two terms above are the joy and nightmare of many producers and sound engineers worldwide.
But im not touching the technical aspect today.
We are talking about voice, so lets see how we can improve the voice.
The first thing you need to know is to know your voice, your real voice, this can be done in many ways, but the surerest way for me is to get out a phone and record the person while they sing.
Your phone is unbiased, except maybe having a few lacking bass or treble frequencies. The good thing about this exercise is that it makes you hear your voice properly and probably at the worst.
This helps because tou can then gauge what your worst voice recording will sound like and make it at least presentable, it also helps one figure out if they have any intonation problems, keeping to time, keeping to key and many otehr things.
Once you have that under control, the next step is to hit the studio and record a master piece.
Yes, talent comes in different forms, and there is no way of knowing what you're capable of till you try.
Once you've recorded your master piece the time then comes for you to train, train your voice, train your mind, train your pronouciation
skills, train your breathing.
With practice and good hard and smart works, you'll get far,
Also politics, lots of politics :).
Thanks, please point out anywhere that isnt clear to you ke!!

Music comes within. Whatever you deposit into your spirit man will turn into music once you open your mouth to sing. Thanks for the lecture.
