I think because Nation was the first thing I heard and it was so different to their earlier stuff, I found the earlier stuff harder to get into - I remember buying Chaos AD after I bought Nation and really not feeling it!

Just the opposite here...I bought Beneath The Remains when it first came out and loved everything up to Chaos AD...which is when they ventured off the beaten path they had been on :)
