Ah, spring, when a young man's fancy turns to thoughts of... monochromatic flowers.
Spring officially started on March 20th, but down in here in Florida it's pretty much spring (and summer) year round. Still, for most of my family in the northern climates (Wisconsin, North Dakota, etc) the snow lays heavy and thick upon the ground. For them, I share this beautiful iris from Wisconsin from last summer.
We had planted a bunch of these around the foundation of our house last year, and I'm curious to see if they survived the winter once things thaw. For now, though, we shall pretend. I also offer the color version of the same photo for those tired of blacks and whites and shades of gray.

On a lighter note, in this northern climate of Wisconsin, the snow has obeyed the calendar and dissipated. Btw, thank you for showing the flower in color; it's a welcome sight after all the shades of Mom Nature's gray - and white - these past several months.
