It seems the everyone these days is trying to make money online. It seems like one of the handiest and easiest was to bring in some income. but how much work actually goes on behind the scenes in making this money?
Selling time for money is what most people do. But is there a better way to spend your time?
I'm after seeing a well-known cooking facebook page that showed a behind the scenes look at their set up. The company basically posts recipes and pictures of a tonne of food. The set up was one that looks like it required a lot of effort. Tables and tables of food were lined up in a row. each table it's own little photography studio/kitchen. The company cook the food and photograph them on the spot and upload to social media. At the time of writing this, they have the guts of 1million followers.
So how much effort is really going into it? How long would it take to set up and arrangement like this and start pumping out pictures of food? not too long in the grand scheme of things I would imagine. In my last job, i would work 10hrs a day. On the surface, you would think that in 10 hrs you'd be able to get a fair few photos of food?? Well maybe not in one day but I worked for the guts of a year in that job knocking out about 50 hrs a week. Now if I had put that those 2600 hours over the course of a year into building an online presence for food how do you think I would have got on?
Making money from something like this on the surface seems kind of silly. But on the other hand, it seems so smart. Being able to build up an audience on is the only thing that seems to matter when making money online because the money only comes from really two sources:
1: Advertising
2: sales of product/service
Being able to build such a following of people online so you can start making money from method 1. or 2. sounds easy.
It's something that many dreams of in order to get some financial independance. but how achievable is it? money seems to make money in this game. The more you spend on advertising the more people you reach, and the more people you reach the more money you make.
