A New Kid
Have you ever been a new kid in a new environment such as a new neighborhood, a new school, a new job, or even a new country? Not only have I been there, but also have been there many times.
Being a new kid might cause someone feeling anxious or uncomfortable in the beginning. The sooner she or he can make new friends, even with just one, the earlier she or he is going to be at ease: having a great time while contributing to the new community.
This applies to the Steemit community, too!
Meet and Greets
Most new people spend a lot of time and effort writing their introduction post introducing themselves to the community and hope to be noticed. They reveal themselves, sometimes too much ;) to strangers, and are vulnerable. It means a lot to them when more people stop by their introduction posts welcoming them by commenting and by giving them a vote, no matter how small it is.
Common sense tells us that they are more likely to stay when they have new friends!!
Where They Are
Please say a few nice words to let them feel welcome and engage them. You never know you might even find your next best friends there!I encourage you to meet and greet new people. You can find them at https://steemit.com/created/introduceyourself
Conclusion
Steemit is the most culturally diversified yet mostly unified community I have ever seen. Most people here are nice and kind. I have interacted with people from different parts of the world and learn their very different cultures. Different language is not even a barrier thanks to Google translate https://translate.google.com/ By the way, I am so thankful that I don't need to speak them :)
You are so right, I am glad to see you doing this @cheneats! Very cool that you are doing it and keep it up :)
Thank you so much, @davemccoy, for encouraging me. I really appreciate it! As a matter of fact, I feel I am really having a lot of fun doing it :) Take care, my friend!
I'm so glad you do this! I'm involved with several groups like @newbieresteemday, @greetersguild, and @helpie, but it's awesome that you've taken it upon yourself to do this. So selfless and so awesome :)
Feel free to pass on the names of these groups to newcomers if you'd like. They will "stay" with new people for their journey, helping and mentoring along the way.
Thanks again for what you are doing for not only the new folks here, but for steemit as a whole :)
Thank you for your very kind words, @lynncoyle1. I am actually having fun myself doing it :)
I can include those accounts in my comment to the newcomers if you don't mind their names are going to be mentioned again and again many times a day. Or, let me know if there is a page link I can include in my comment so new people can go read it and know what resources are available to help them.
I thank you, too, for your selfless effort to make Steemit a better community for us all!
Hey that would be awesome if you could. I'm going to give you the Discord Invite links here as well, so if you want to include that in your comment, the new person can go from there and we'll catch them at our end :) So awesome!
@newbieresteemday invite link: https://discord.gg/b9Q48Q @greetersguild invite link: https://discord.gg/ @helpie is invite only; they come searching for you, so I can't give that one
So awesome! Thanks ;)
Are you on Discord? I was going to send you a message there.
I have signed up on Discord - same user name :)
I checked both profiles. Just need to confirm that:
@greetersguild invite link https://discord.gg/AkzNSKx @newbieresteemday invite link https://discord.gg/2ZcAxsU
Yep that seems right :)
OK. I am going to start including these two groups in my welcome comments. Thanks :)
You are most welcome! Thank you for what you're doing :)
Great post and yes the google translator is such a handy tool! :-)
Absolutely, Google translate is a very handy tool. There is no need to go to a dictionary and spend countless hours just trying to understand a short article in a language I am not familiar with. Thank you so much for stopping by and for commenting! I appreciate it :-)
Love this...share your sentiments 💚 love this platform of meeting and interacting with such amazing, talented people everyday...and learning something new always..most rewarding and exciting feeling.
I am so happy to hear that, which is the greatest feeling of all our life journey, isn't it? Thank you so much for sharing :) I appreciate it!
Totally is 💚😊
You are right.
Thank you so much for your comment.
You are right.
great harvest @cheneats ... certainly nothing like a warm welcome, a few nice words, are the perfect hand grip .. thank you
It is my pleasure, my friend. Welcome again to this community with many kind people :)
Awesome attitude you have @cheneats ! It's cool to support one another in Steemit, and I agree especially for the newbies it's a huge learning curve...even for me I'm not so new but there's still a lot to learn as well lol! Steemit can be a fun or intimidating place depending on the personality of the individual to tech-savvy experiences and learning all the rules and regulations.
Thumbs up, upvote to support. Cheers~

Hey @badcontent... I have spoken with the author and he understood that he needs to come up with new and interesting content. If there is a way to "appeal" this automatic flag, I will be happy to follow up with you and him to make sure that he continues doing good content and making the community a better place. Some people do need a 2nd chance, so if there is a way to appeal this I'm sure I can get others to speak on behalf of @cheneats like @abh12345 which is a very highly respected steemian!
Hi @badcontent, I see @davemccoy's plea and would like to add my name to that. I have recently begun a relationship with @cheneats in regards to his "meet and greet" of newbies here. You can see our comments on this post as a matter of fact. Like @davemccoy, I would also be happy to follow up with you and/or @cheneats with regards to his content. He is now offering a very valuable 'service' to newbies here and I'd hate to see that hampered because of his previous issues regarding the flagging. I also believe in second chances...not third or fourth ones :) Thanks for reading.
