Well, well, well, look what we have here... I go to bed at around 3950 followers. I had written a nice little article mostly to my own Dad to tell folks over 60 why they should invest in crypto and I wake up to a $300 post that's kinda trending and I broke the 4,000 follower threshold! So, that's amazing!!! WOOT!
What do I do differently now?
Absolutely nothing! The plan stays in the exact same direction. I'm going to keep spreading peace, abundance, and liberty. For my witness campaign I'm going to continue working on growth hacking steemit and helping minnows grow. To that end the @minnowsupport project account is sitting at 2800+ followers and that's growing. It currently has over 110k delegated SP. It has about 5k SP of it's own now. The project has 257 delegations combining to make over 144k SP in delegations overall!!! Not bad for 45 days of work!
Should I spam some names?
I think I'll drop 3 that have been with me on this journey since basically the very beginning. @ausbitbank, @teamsteem, and @canadian-coconut have been supporting my posts with upvotes and resteems since almost day 1 on the platform. I should also mention that I get serious levels of executive coaching from @timcliff and think I've benefitted as a witness tremendously because of his advice and wisdom. Despite being 48 on the witness list and having over 600 votes I'm still relatively new at this. I've been a witness for a little over 2 months and have only gone through 1 hard fork and 1 soft fork. It's been a learning experience and I rely on him for his experience and sound approach. Thanks Tim!

I'm just posting cause I'm happy to still be progressing. Still lots of much bigger folks on here with much wider audiences, but considering I started without any audience or any Steem Power 10 months ago I'm feeling pretty good. For the long term followers thanks for sticking with me through my ups and downs. For the newbies I'm committed to helping you grow on the platform faster that I was able to do it myself. It's so inspiring to see you flourish on the platform. You have done an amazing thing at MSP and seeing you succeed puts to rest the notion some have that you "can't" compete here without bringing a following from elsewhere or shitposting all day. You've basically proven once and for all that giving here is how you benefit and that is a truly splendid thing.
Just as a small example of your impact: Without your work the Fiction Workshop wouldn't have happened and I wouldn't have found the fantastic group of people there who are working to raise the bar for fiction on Steemit. Before finding them, I hadn't written fiction in years. Indirectly, your efforts have given me back a creative outlet I love and a place to hone my craft with kind, generous, supportive friends.
I know there are hundreds of similar stories among the MSP members and you should know that behind those numbers you cited are people like me, who may not be rolling in SP (yet), but whose lives have changed significantly for the better due to your efforts.

Yep, several folks are definitely living on the channel. The reason for that? Aggroed has build such a strong vision for the place that we're all totally invested. And...we're seeing real results. The is going to be one of Steemit's most solid and enduring communities, I think, long after the minnows become dolphins and whales. :-) Squirrel, you rock!

Good phrase! I like it. That's basically my entire approach. In a system that creates abundance help other people. I think it's that simple.

The real mystery in Steemit lies with becoming a person who thinks of giving more than receiving. This is the fundamentals of the Gift Economy, which the Western world knows very little about. Study how the gift economy and tribal culture works (the most powerful chiefs in tribes are the ones who give the most), and you'll be on your way.
Yeah, and whats amazing is just how easy that is to do here!!! Click, fed your family a week! That's amazing!!!!!!
I believe the shift can only happen once one's needs are met. While someone is barely able to eat, his/her mind can only be focused on the self. So, this process of transforming is gradual. I think back to 2016, when I was working as a writer and barely able to pay my bills. I didn't have the luxury of thinking about others because my own survival was at stake. Most of the world is barely able to eat. So, it's not likely that this transformation will be very fast. What I think is the main issue is this: people in Western (rich) countries suffer because they have no purpose (so they think they need more wealth, more "things" to fill in their vacant heart, while most people in underdeveloped countries struggle with things like electricity, having enough to eat, having access to internet. There is a huge gap here, and a lot of work that needs to be done........in both worlds. In the West, I see the need to wean people off Facebook, the media, and the materialism. Plus, I see a need to educate people about what the Gift Economy actually means. We have all been brainwashed with materialism, and commodity culture, to such a degree that people don't even understand what the Gift Economy is. Steemit, subsconsciously, embodies the Gift Economy and tribal culture, even though it's not advertised that way. It's a shift in consciousness that is defintely not well understood. It's like the real getting unplugged from The Matrix. The more I think about this, the more it's almost a miracle in programming.....sometimes I too cannot believe we have been given this gift.

Congratulations on the 4000 followers :) I don't know many who have 4000 followers so I guess that should make you steemit famous ;) I am new here and was all too eager to get followers in the beginning but learned the hard way that followers through follow for follows ain't following so although I currently have over 600 followers, I hardly get more than 10 eyes on my posts.
