I've been trying to chill a bit from hive stuff lately, not cause prices may be low or anything, but I think for the first time I'm getting this kind of mental fatigue that I haven't really experienced before.
I can't however completely get away from hive as there's a lot of things that require my daily input, especially in terms of voting. My focus lately has been curating posh shares which takes quite a lot of time out of my day.
Some people I've been talking to suggested that I'd automated it or vibe code an AI to do it for me but I kind of fail to see how that could do it better or even good enough. I do mean to delegate the task further at some point but there's a lot of voting power we're talking about so it's not always easy to find people you can absolutely trust and at the same time to do the work for some hive rewards. (maybe that part may be price related)
There's a lot that goes into the curation of it, off the top of my head, here's a few things:
how often has this account been sharing today/lately
how often has this account/other sharers been sharing in that subreddit
is it an image or link share
is it one image or multiples
is it shared to a frontend that checks views (peakd/ecency)
has the share received any engagement on reddit
is the sharer's reddit account engaging or just sharing and ignoring redditors who may become hivers
how big is the subreddit in terms of subscribers/weekly visitors compared to the upvotes the share received
how much voting power has been spent on this particular sharer the last week compared to their sharing results, etc
there's probably other things as well but maybe this could give you kind of an idea of why coding an AI to do it for you may not be something I deem realistic at this point in time, although I'd be happy to be proven wrong - but then we'd have to oversee the curation anyway which could, if made public that a person isn't curation, bring in more attempts at abuse than already the attempts of abuse we've been dealing with so far.
Other than that things that have taken my time have been zing stuff, things are moving slow there still. People think/assume that just because we got DHF funding to help with payments that things are going to magically go faster foward, when in reality that support just helped make sure our gamedev can stay with the project to see it through and that other devs and artists can get paid who were behind on payment. Part of that payment is also going solely to the HAF NFT dev that we're collecting now and we've already burned through quite a bit of the "overhead" we asked for to create more artwork (beta stuff) along with designs for crafting and gathering professions.
Anyway, I'm not going to get too deep into all that in this post, I'm quite delayed on posting an official one on @holozing with things like zingtober results, holo dust december claims, a few new creature reveals along with something else I'm not gonna share here yet.
So while things are moving slowly forward it's also becoming a bit overwhelming in a sense where, we got so many different things going on and all of them are at some part close to completion along with the time it's taking that it feels like I'm spreading myself so thin that I keep forgetting things we've worked on on the game from the past because it's just been so long that we tackled that thing that we now are continuing on. If that makes sense. Like I have to take a new look at work done a few months ago because the sheer amount of things we're doing is so big that I have to re-learn what we've done and how far some things are before I can decide on the next move.
I'm hoping that our alpha testing, both private and public will be a success to the point where we have more community input and assistance with smaller things from the community so that it's not just me "behind the wheel" so to speak. It'd be great if eventually we could also afford someone else to do the day-to-day organizing and looking into that things get done and I can step into a more "big picture" role of the project as it becomes more "decentralized".
For now we gotta keep on the grind however, even with some breaks here and there to remain sane.
Other than that I've been spending time playing POE2 or watching Curb your Enthusiasm lately. Haven't been recording or streaming however as that's felt like too much of an effort for my current mental state, lol.
Thanks for reading!
hey :)
I should not be pausing what I'm doing - to read - or reply to posts right now! LOL but I somehow missed one of my teem a few days ago, distributing to wallets - and when I came here - saw I had a notification, saw it was from you - and decided to come read a post from you! :)
I think anyone who reads this (really reads it) can feel your fatigue right now. It's radiating off the page and I just want to recognize that, and empathize.. truly, when you hit that spot - it just... it hurts. Makes you really start questioning things. Makes you think "how did I ever think this was going to be sustainable?" hehe cuz energy eventually hits its max! And if you don't have people surrounding you that are pouring back in, stepping in, shouldering some of the tasks... reminding you why you do what you do.... burnout is eminent.
It sounds like you're at the precipice, my friend.
Last year we had a major blow dealt to us - and I stripped everything back to almost 1. I made it so that only the people who really cared, would bother to stick around. And it went down to the bare minimum (scary? yep. necessary? yep. would I do it again? absofrigginlutely.)
Because after that year - I realized... we have QUITE a core group that gets me, gets each other, gets what I do, and gets why I do it.
You might want to take out your measuring tape and see who actually makes the cut.
Because I - for one - had to realize that not everyone who I brought it with "my magnet" was there for me - or even for any other soul. And I was expending MYSELF for the good guys... along with the countless "bad guys".
In my book, bad guys can sometimes earn a chance too! But they absolutely do not deserve my devotion.
So - maybe go back through your to-do list and ask yourself - what is REALLY adding back to my projects? to me? to the community?
...And what is actually draining ALL of that.
Identify it and SLASH it off your table and do not waste another second on it.
Don't know if you'll see this any time soon... and if you reply - don't know if I'll see that soon! (I'll try to check!) hahaha so - just take it for what it's worth, and take 3 really really deep breaths. slow. deliberate. and then get to it :)
Sounds like you are having a burn out man so you should definitely take a break from some activities and focus on what's absolutely necessary for a few months. I personally was on a vacation for the past 2 days because of this.
Maybe someone else from ocd top curators can help out. I'm strongly against auto voting through a system like AI or other means though. I have seen people taking advantage of this extensively on a different platform. A human's insight is necessary in this particular area because a code can't judge a person's work.
Just the zing work is a full time job, in a real life workplace that would be project manager, add the curation... It's more time consuming curate properly than write posts
Some good comedy might help mind relax, oh and more gaming
You're getting old, bro. Your work is essential. Something that helps me during my post-shifts when I'm working (and sometimes don't sleep at all) is just a cup of coffee, eating plenty of protein, and resting for 1.5 hours... Although it may seem like a short time, it's like recharging my energy.
It's always good to have a bit of rest here and there, you certainly deserve one given how productive you are. Good luck on the testing and soon the launch too! I am sure many has been waiting for it.
You have really made us know how you feel and how the state of your mind is right now.
I suggest you get some rest, ree quip yourself and come back. To continue.
One thing that I was thinking is how to enter in a equilibrium about Hive advertising and organic engajament should a post have it on reddit?Too much for one side people are going to be banned from the subs, but the other way Hive also don’t get anything… sqw some posts where the link was totally hidden qnd the user on reddit would ignore the link.
I think you have to form a work team, it is necessary, in my country there is a saying that "he who covers a lot does not squeeze much"
Working as a team will ease the burden. Get people you trust from your circle. Delegate responsibilities and oversee what they do. It's a piece of advice
This honestly sounds like a very real kind of burnout, Maybe a middle ground could be a short trial period with limited scope, like for maybe a week trial period or something. That way you can see how it feels, how trustworthy the process is, and whether it actually reduces mental load. I get that even while doing something you love you can still get mentally exhausted.
Downtime, sometimes one needs it to get creative again. Certainly in times of lots of noise. Great how you keep working on your projects though. Great post and thanks for sharing
Take it in stride brother, we need you at 100%. I need to do a holozing post soon. Moderation is the key 🔑.

I understand the mental exhaustion, taking a break for a while can really help you get your focus and energy back for all those tasks.
There's no harm in taking a break, my friend, to maintain your mental health. Taking a break will help you refocus. Keep up the good work💪. Take care of your mental health, it's crucial.
Downtime is always essential especially when working with screens and thinking about so many projects.
Just a few days to touch grass😂
Rest is an important thing to the body. The period of your rest can be a period of calm and reboot to come out afresh and strong.
You perform at a higher level than most people. That does put you in a position where you can take on an unreasonable amount of tasks and sustain it for a long time.
When I have too many work things going on, I look for areas where I can cut out processes or make processes more efficient.
One thing I watch out for personally is activity bias. If I’m doing a lot of tasks that often feels like I’m providing value. I go back and look at what I have been doing and say, does this actually create value or is this just busy work? Doing busy work makes most people feel good which is an odd thing about human psychology.
I’m not saying you can refine anything or cut anything out. I’m not saying you do busy work either. I really don’t have a good idea on how all your stuff works except what I see on chain. It’s hard to find people you can trust irl and especially in anything crypto related.
All I’m telling you is what has worked for me in the past so maybe it can help you. Worst case I am stopping by to say hi on your blog 😄
Don’t be too hard on yourself. Kudos to you for putting yourself out there and talking openly about what all you are dealing with. I think a lot of people go through what you are going through so seeing posts like this does help people empathize with you. I do a lot of stuff on HIVE now so I understand, to some degree, what all you do for HIVE and I do have a deep appreciation for you.

Saludos ✍️
I think it's very healthy to take some time out. On the other hand, I don't know the best way to choose someone to delegate your votes to, but I don't think there's a perfect way. Maybe it's just a matter of choosing several people and hoping for the best. 😁
Rest is necessary! Taking a break is sometimes the best thing to do, to recharge our batteries so we can come back stronger than ever! Best regards
Rest, my friend, and delegate responsibilities to others. A friend of mine recently died from so much stress, and he was only 34 years old.
