Hello Guys , what brings to your mind when you think of Mauritius? Perhaps it’s the white sandy beaches and turquoise waters? Or maybe you think of loved up honeymooners and luxury resorts? Well, you wouldn’t be wrong, but I'm writing this post as there is so much more to Mauritius than the stereotypical scenes listed above.

The island of Mauritius is a somewhat well-known destination in India ,its an entire nation of immigrants, many of which are from India. The official language of the island is English, however, more people speak French and Mauritian Creole. The fact that almost all of the locals speak English makes this an ideal destination for English-speaking travelers.

Me and Vinay had direct Air Mauritius flights from India to Mauritius , with 30 minutes stoppage at chennai- India. We stayed in amazing Le Palmiste resort and spa ,a 2-minute walk from Trou-aux-Biches Beach, this relaxed low-rise resort in tropical gardens .

We went to Mauritius in July which winter there , so we faced cold winds in beaches sometimes but I still liked it , its not like typical winters , its just not so hot hot thats why called there winter , else it was sunny days.

First day we went for shopping tour of Mauritius , Wooden boat models are typical souvenirs in Mauritius. For that we visited Curepipe . It has beautiful boat models.

For us transport was provided by resort. After visiting nearby museum ,we went to see Dormant Volcano **"Trou aux Cerfs" ** though it didn't look like volcano as it was green throughout , stayed there for sometime and it was great mountain view.

Finally for absorbing the rich culture of Mauritius we went to see Grand Bassin Hindu temple, one of the largest religious sites in Mauritius and The world’s largest idol of Shiva in Mauritius.
