Loving yourself has to become a habit and like any habit we have to create a practice that Will engrave the love inside of us. It is true that you need to just be yourself in the moment but I find that if you feel shitty or angry it is difficult to stay in the self loving state. I personally believe that a constant practice of a state of love is required to keep you in the self loving state.
Yeah, I guess what we need to learn is, that we can love things in us, that we don't like.
So Love is giving feelings and thoughts the room to breath - to be there - even when you don't like the feeling. Don't try to like things that you can't like. No one likes to feel shitty - just let it be there. The funny thing is, that you don't even need to accept, because whatever feeling appears in your consciousness, has already been allowed in and is already accepted by consciousness to be there. It is already accepted - otherwise it wouldn't be there. So don't like and don't accept - be the space, where even not-liking and non-acceptence are allowed to be. That is Love. 🙏
