In Too Many Toys, we see Spencer laying in his room with toys filed all around him and even spilling out down the stairs and into the living room. He has big toys in the backyard and little toys in the bathtub. Sometimes he played with quiet toys like wooden toys, puzzles and board games, but other times he plays with loud video games and crazy electronic toys. In this book read aloud, we see Spencer making a parade out of a zoo stuffed stuffed animals and an army of little action figures. He even had a fleet of planes trays and toy boats, as well as musical instruments art supplies and spaceman weapons. In this story book we see all of the different people in Spencer's life that give him toys including his grandma, aunt, doctor, dentist, school, drive-thru restaurants and friends for his birthday. He had so many toys that they were becoming a hazard in his house, with his dad stepping on Legos and his mom tripping over railroad tracks with a load of laundry. His mother became angry one day with the mess and told Spencer he had to get rid of the toys he didn't want anymore. Spencer retorted that he loved them all! As we continue this reading for kids, we see his mother helping him sort through his many toys to decide which ones he wants to get rid of. Spencer and his mother get into a negotiation as they try to decide which toys are kept and which must be gotten rid of. As this read-aloud book nears the end, we see a box full of all kinds of assorted toys that Spencer and his mom have gone through after sorting through every toy in the box. Finally after they were finished, mother goes upstairs to load the toys into the car but instead of a box filled with toys she sees them strewn all over the floor. Spencer declares that they cannot get rid of the box all the toys are in because it's his favorite toy ever!
