You want a child that will not disgrace you, or even disregard you at anytime? A child that will recognize you as his parent and will treat you with the respect you deserve? It all depends on the type of morals you have instilled in him from childhood.
For parents who want their kids to be obedient, dutiful and responsible, they start the journey from the raw basics of childhood upbringing. They let their kids feel responsible for any action they commit. They correct them when they need to and they do not leave them on the basis that they are too young.
At every opportunity, in every little way, try your best to see to it that you are giving your kids a little of the morals you want them to cultivate. If you keep postponing things and keep waiting for the right time, then it’s possible that you may not get the full time to sit them down to talk. You are seeing a movie together? Point out a few things that are related to morals. Mention in passing that if the antagonist hadn’t been so bad, he probably could have had a good ending too. At the mall, teach them to help older citizens with bags they can carry. Teach them to speak politely whenever they are addressing others or they are being addressed.
Do not wait till their ideas and orientations have been formed to caution, teach and build them. Catch them young!
