Thanks for the very insightful post. I’m a newbie and a minnow, and it’s interesting and inspiring to read such observations from a whale.
Above all, it’s great to learn about the mission of @dantheman and the others behind Steemit. While many of us are busy learning about Steemit, creating content, curating (or learning how best to curate), and maybe even trying to earn a bit of Steem, we may not realize the visionary ideals that led to this incredible innovation.
As for the news that most whales give more than they take, that is in fact great news – if not revolutionary news. Most bankers, on the other hand, only take, take more and then take much more, while maybe giving only a few token charitable or philanthropic donations. And over the past few decades, their wealth extraction has ballooned to ridiculous (and unsustainable) levels.
For years now, it’s been clear that a change or a revolution is necessary. But few people will want to fight a revolution against a militarized police force or an army of mechanical drones that can go anywhere, without any fear or danger.
Which brings us to cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. I don’t claim to understand much about the technology, but I’ve learned enough to realize that they are bringing about a quiet revolution, one that no army or police force can stop.
Vive la Steemit Revolution!
